Reviews
This place is a MUST go, we visited here last year for the very first time with friends (we had an amazing experience), and my wife and I decided to tried again; well… we were not disappointed whatsoever!!! From the very start our server was the incredible “S” who knew the details about the dishes and she delivered one of the best service that we have ever received from a server/waitress on the hospitality industry. She was an absolute delight to work with and we truly appreciated her very much!. The fermented bread is out of this world, the pumpkin raviolis are an incredible and delicious dish and the cocktails were on point!
The atmosphere on the restaurant is very captivating and private, it was a Friday night and probably still early as it was only a few tables by the time we left, we got there at 630 PM.
We will be back for more once we are in town for more delicious flavors!
Legacy Records provides an extraordinary experience with impeccable staff, offering drinks that are simply to die for. The classy atmosphere adds to the overall charm, making it a standout destination for those seeking a memorable and sophisticated outing. Cheers to a fantastic time at Legacy Records!
The food is absolutely incredible. The new chef Lucas Harrell has brought balanced bursts of flavor throughout the menu. From the diverse array of crudo, the outrageously delicious pastas and the mains—our favorite was the famous legacy duck and the truffle-stuffed chicken, which may be the best chicken any of us ever had! And the homemade gelato and Mille feuille were *chefs kiss*
Restaurant is beautiful and service was also great. Delicious cocktails too!
Amazing meal at Legacy Records. Excellent food and service. Pictured are the corn scarpinocc pasta, the bread, crudo tasting (razor clams, scallops, tuna belly and fluke), heirloom tomatoes, Foie Gras, the mint gelato and chocolate cake. Quite a memorable evening!!
I really enjoyed my night at Legacy Records. The atmosphere, service, and menu were incredible. Even the music was a vibe. The staff was mindful of my girlfriend's dietary restrictions right from the start.
We ordered the mackerel with pepitas and gooseberries (what a delightfully unexpected combo), grilled octopus, squid ink spaghetti with anchovy, pain d'epi legacy bread, oysters, scallops, japanese sweet potatoes, and prickly pear sorbet.
Maybe it was a silly story, but learning that their bread was imported from France and churned by nuns was hilarious. I loved that little bit of info.
I did order the squid ink spaghetti with anchovy anticipating a more fishy and salty flavor, but it tasted a bit on the bright with citrus side perhaps.
The mackerel and sweet potatoes were the big standouts for both of us, while everything else was still so exceptional...
However, we wanted to end the night with dessert, and unfortunately, the final impression was not a great one. We exchanged bites of the prickly pear sorbet, and both got a mouth full of sea salt that really pulled us out of the experience. I had to ask our waiter if that was intentional and it appeared to be so. I didn't want to be "one of those people" and return my food, so I tried to eat around it, but it really did put a damper on my mood. If this was noted on the menu or by my waiter prior, I could've asked to please hold the sea salt, and the food would be 5 stars. But I do thank you for an overall great night!
One of those places you’d think “wow this is a great find!”
I live nearby this restaurant but never went before because the name sounded generic. But the food, service, and ambiance all surpassed expectations.
The menu is short and just tells you that each dish has been carefully curated and executed. Portion sizes are not what you would call an American-sized portion, just the way I prefer. No food wastage because everything gets eaten and savoured with pleasure.
I rarely leave reviews and mostly only leave them when it’s a bad experience. But I felt compelled to write this one because it’s truly a dining experience in New York that is not common.
Thanks for the good work and the even better food, Legacy Records!
Can’t comment on the food but will say, they do have an extensive and exquisite wine list.
Showcasing wines from prominent cellars, their list engulfs snapshots from not only current recognizable names but as you waltz through the pages you feel as you’re about to encounter the unforgettable Rothschild Château Lafite, or perhaps a more contemporary version of a Screaming Eagle doppelgänger which could be as boisterous as the original from the 1990’s. Enjoy the dance, I surely did!
À ta santé; Portons un toast!
I don't believe I have ever experienced worse service. The bartender met us with what can only be described as disdain. He seemed annoyed that were there and outright hostile when we ordered a second round of drinks. It took approximately 40 minutes for mine to appear and multiple requests for mine to appear. Once it did arrive, he bussed the full drink after I took only 1 sip. I was so surprised, I called out "Did you just take my drink?" and without acknowledging me or saying anything, he walked around a wall to somewhere I couldn't see, and brought it back. If I hadn't been out with close friends, I would have been worried about drinking it - it wasn't a new drink, I don't know what he did with it when it was out of site, and he truly appeared angry we were even there. Some new folks had just walked up to the bar when it happened, saw what occurred, and turned right around and walked out.
The food was delicious - 5 stars on taste, 1 star for portion size. I'm a small person and generally don't finish everything in a meal, but I would have needed 6 plates for a normal meal size. $22 bought literally one scallop. I ordered the scallop, Japanese sweet potatoes, and broccoli rabe, which totaled $56 before tax.
It still could have been a 5 star experience if the hostility with which we were met hadn't soured everything else. It's hard to say there's a great atmosphere when it's clear the person serving you doesn't want you there.
